Production Manager

A well-established manufacturer in Missoula is looking to add a Production Manager to their team. The Production Manager directs the production leads and their employees in all areas necessary for the production and assembly of products while promoting a safe, enthusiastic and motivated work environment. We are looking for someone with a strong background in manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and process improvement within a medical manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to set up and refine new processes, lead teams, and drive efficiency while adhering to stringent quality control standards. Someone who has demonstrated the ability to create and implement processes from the ground up, monitor success, and adjust as necessary. This person will also need to collaborate across departments and be comfortable walking the production floor, engaging with employees, and gathering feedback to make continuous improvements.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Conduct daily meetings with production leadership to ensure open communications are maintained and daily production goals are met
  • Communicate daily work plan and goals to the team and hold department accountable to reach defined goals
  • Responsible for hiring, overtime, performance, discipline, and discharge of all employees
  • Define training needs for existing personnel and implement as needed
  • Maintain operations within approved budgets and prepare reports as needed
  • Coordinates production priorities with Supply Chain Team
  • Work on, promote process improvements, and cost reductions in collaboration with Engineering Manager
  • Direct and Promotes safety through leadership and direction of the Safety Committee
  • Utilize and implement all “Lean Manufacturing” tools (5s, Preventive Maintenance)
  • Conduct performance reviews annually with the assistance of plant leadership
  • Provide written reports as necessary on daily throughput and prepares monthly production reporting package
  • Resolve personnel problems; implement and follow corrective action procedures when necessary


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility with a focus on regulatory compliance, quality control, and process improvement
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified facility is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the ability to enforce them
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and refining processes from scratch, with measurable impacts on efficiency, cost reduction, and employee morale
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience using data and manufacturing tools to drive decisions, track production metrics, and improve performance
  • Comfort with hands-on leadership, including walking the floor, troubleshooting machinery, and engaging with team members
